THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE 29 ELVISES: MEET MATT TIPTON

If you've attended a Go Game event somewhere across North America in the last decade and a half, there's a decent chance Matt had something to do with it.

As TGG's most Senior Event Producer, Matt has spent more than 16 years creating unforgettable experiences for groups of every size, from intimate team-building events to productions involving thousands of participants.

His Go Game story started in classic Go Game fashion: not behind a laptop, but out in the field playing a character.

"My first game was in Union Square in San Francisco. I played a character called Agent Deadweight. My job was to annoy an unsuspecting team for more than two minutes. If they stayed nice to me the entire time, they earned points."

It wasn't exactly a conventional introduction to event production, but it perfectly captured what makes The Go Game unique: unexpected moments, creative challenges, and a healthy dose of controlled chaos.

A lot has changed since that first game.

When Matt joined The Go Game, smartphones were still new, remote work wasn't part of the conversation, and most companies thought of team building as a trust fall or an awkward happy hour. Over the last 16 years, he's had a front-row seat to the evolution of experiential events, helping companies connect through technology, play, and shared experiences long before "employee engagement" became a corporate buzzword.

He's watched The Go Game grow, adapt, and continuously reinvent itself. New games. New formats. New technologies. New cities. New challenges.

What hasn't changed is the reason people show up.

People want to connect.

Whether it's a city-wide scavenger hunt, a charity build benefiting a local community, a game show packed with inside jokes, or a custom experience designed around a company's culture, the goal is always the same: create moments people remember.

Over the years, Matt has helped create a lot of those moments.

One of his favorite recent events took place in Park City, Utah, where The Go Game produced an Olympic-themed experience featuring three Olympic medalists as actors within the game itself. It was a reminder that the best events often blur the line between reality and play, creating experiences participants couldn't have predicted when they walked in the door.

And then there are the events that become company legend.

For Matt, one of those was a 2,700-person Classic Go Game at The Venetian in Las Vegas for Workday. The experience featured a giant RC car track, a marching band, a flash mob, and 29 Elvis impersonators spread throughout the venue.

It's the kind of event that sounds exaggerated until you realize it's completely true.

After 16 years, Matt has learned that the most memorable events aren't necessarily the biggest or the most elaborate. They're the ones where people forget to check their phones, throw themselves fully into the experience, and leave with stories they'll still be telling months later.

Fortunately, creating those moments is still part of the job.

And after more than a decade and a half, Matt is still finding new ways to make them happen.
