JavaOne Urban Adventure On June 12th, The Go Game teamed up with Madsen Associates to deliver The JavaOne Urban Adventure a Go Game of massive proportions! The theme of this year’s JavaOne Convention was ‘Java Everywhere.’ What better way to do it than via the Go Game? Over a period of 6 weeks, we created a sophisticated Java application that ran on the new Nokia 3650 and the results were truly incredible. Armed with the 3650 and a Nextel i90, 100 teams fanned out from the Moscone Center and literally took over SOMA and downtown SF. You couldn’t stand in a spot for more that 30 seconds before a Java team came whizzing by! We hired over 30 actors who populated the Game Zone. Nerf balls flew from 6th story office windows, while guitar playing cowboys strolled on Market Street. The adventure game combined with JavaOne trivia to give attendees a great time as well as driving home conference themes in a compelling and unique way! The winning team made off with incredible prizes including
free conference passes to JavaOne 2004, and lunch with James Gosling! |
