Good luck in the MGM Grand
Las Vegas, NV - 2000 Players
CHALLENGE
Create a 3-day game experience for a group of 2000 (a business intelligence software sales team) gathered in Vegas for their annual sales kickoff. Goals were to bond as a group and learn about a host of complicated new products they'd be selling. In order to fit within the schedule, The Go Game scripted the event to work within the confines of the company's hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, and within tight time restrictions.
DESIGN
The Go Game team hit Las Vegas a week in advance
to scout and create customized missions that would highlight the
sales goals and objectives of the client. 50 actors were peppered
throughout the gamezone playing roles such as: confused CIO in need
of a good pitch, card dealers officiating games of 'sales poker'
and a host of other entertaining interactions. Creative challenges
were written to drive home the features of the new software suite,
and get players brainstorming about the broader context of their
product line. The Game Developers also crafted specific "Interteam"
missions in which teams could opt to challenge their friends on
rival teams to show off their special skills, increasing the amount
of face-time between attendees. A final mission category drove players
to all relevant partner booths to learn about supporting products
and platforms.
RESULT
Teams basically went bananas with this game. Players changed their flight times on the last day of the conference, just so they could complete the game. Participants mentioned that they'd not experienced so much 'energy' at a conference before. In striking the perfect balance betewen fun and competitiveness The Go Game was able to enliven a conference where there was a lot of work to do. Participants left the 3-day conference with renewed passion about their products and their team as a whole.

Orlando, FL - 1100 players
CHALLENGE
A group of 1100 sales professionals gathered for their annual convention at a large golf resort outside of Orlando. The organizer was looking for a fun, two-day team building event to be produced solely at the hotel venue.
DESIGN
The Go Game folks hit the ground running, designing over 100 missions for the 125 teams that participated in the event. Players competed for two hours in a variety of activities that added to their sales training and goals – some teams had to use their sales skills to coax a bawling bride back to the altar while others were forced to debate the merits of peanut butter vs. jelly.
RESULT
Teams from various regions mingled and learned invaluable lessons about colleagues they had only previously met over the phone. These interactions created bonds that were clearly on display during the judging phase of The Go Game. During the wrap-up of the event there was friendly competition between the 5 sales regions that resulted in the director of Southeast Sales being carried from the room on his team’s shoulders!

CHALLENGE
We at The Go Game relish our roles as fire fighters. We love to come out at a moment's notice and produce an amazing event with minimal exertion from our client's. On a Thursday during the summer of 2007 Go Game HQ received an urgent call from a Fortune 500 company whose team building activity had fallen through. The Go Game had to plan, write and execute an event for 200 college interns at a remote resort in less than 72 hours!
DESIGN
The team worked closely with the client who gave us her parameters: include some tidbits about the company while making sure that the players forged lasting bonds that they would remember as they went back to their respective college campuses. The Game Developers crafted missions specifically tailored to the knowledge and skill sets of the young future of this thriving engineering company.
RESULT
During the conference, the participants had been working non-stop to learn about and discuss the direction of their company. The Go Game was a welcome diversion and allowed players to get outside and experience the beautiful natural scenery even as they battled a ninja and interacted with a crazy old prospector. The judging ceremony at the end of the event was a raucous, unexpected celebration that put a perfect cap on the annual meeting. We were fortunate to be invited back the next year...with the same results!
