Jane McGonigal
Jane McGonigal is a graduate student in the Ph.D.
program for performance studies at the University of California at Berkeley,
where she is researching the intersections of digital technology and art.
Her recent and current performance projects include "Experiment No.
1" (Looking Glass Theater, New York City), "The Do-It-Yourself
Guide to Revolutionary Science" (Lab Run Performance Series, Berkeley,
CA), and "S.H.I.F.T. Revolution" (Pari Center for New Learning,
Italy). Jane presented her digital-performance research most recently
at the 2002 conference for the Digital Culture Project in Los Angeles,
and her practice is informed by her award-winning work as an online producer,
having spent two years in Silicon Alley as a founding editor of studentadvantage.com,
Yahoo! Internet Life's best college web portal (1999, 2000). She also
brings to the Go Game an urban events-planning background that includes
programming festivals, game tournaments and special events for the City
of New York.
