      <description><![CDATA[Remember, like 3 years ago, when all the big banks did 'Stress Tests' to see if they'd survive through the recession? The Fed (or whoever) basically did a fun play-test where the shit really hit the fan. Hordes of <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cRrbcv_qKA" target="_blank">post-apocalyptic zombies</a> would try to make huge ATM withdrawals, while flaming, radioactive asteroids pelted us from outer space -- and at the end, some banks stood firm! <br>
<br>

James Gang<br>
<br>
Well, that's what we did with our Go Game App on Thursday. <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/jenny_gottstein.asp" target="_blank">Jenny</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/jade_durkee.asp" target="_blank">Jade</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/michelle_mills.asp" target="_blank">Michelle</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/andrew_stewart.asp" target="_blank">Andrew</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/sasha_cox.asp" target="_blank">Sasha</a>and <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/brett_rounsaville.asp" target="_blank">Brett</a> convinced like 10 uninitiated friends to play <a href="http://gogameapp.com/party" target="_blank">The Go Game App</a>. Just like the banks stress tests, Jenny and Andrew recreated a true-to-life Go Game scenario. The players were plied with cocktails, given zero instruction (ie flaming asteroids) and set loose on the Mission District (specifically, the <a href="http://www.missionmission.org/2011/04/21/say-hello-to-san-franciscos-newest-microhood-royal-gate/" target="_blank">Royal Gate</a> neighborhood....ummm, Zombies). It was our first honest to goodness stress-test, and we're incredibly happy to report that it totally rocked. Hard.<br>
<br>
<img src="http://69.20.70.121/files/game/1006/team2.jpg"width="600"><br>
Berkeley Ladies<br>
<br>
The short, 60-minute game was a fusion of old and the new -- combining Jenny's <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD7PQySHAZc" target="_blank">uber-cool, post-modern aesthetic </a> with some old fashioned Go Game ridiculousness in the form of the long-forgotten Fish Race. Unfortunately nothing from the original Fish Races was documented. The lore simply hangs in the air of old office (along with the faint odor of decomposing feeder fish). Jenny, being a connoisseur of <a href="http://dadsaretheoriginalhipster.tumblr.com/"_blank">weird-things-from-our-past-about-which-we feel-somewhat-conflicted</a>, was totally game to resurrect the Fish Race. It was hot, and none of the fish died. Jenny? Right?<br>
<br>
What did we learn? Well, we've been doing a lot of play testing, so nothing that we haven't heard before: ATT is sloooow, some UI tweaks needed, a lot of team seem to end up <a href="http://blogs.msdn.com/blogfiles/freddyk/WindowsLiveWriter/IntegrationtoVirtualEarthPart1outof3_8487/image_9.png" target="_blank">here </a>;).... HOWEVER, we finished this test with a real sense of accomplishment. Like we let the weasel back into the wild. It was fun to nurse the weasel and to dress it up in doll clothes, but the weasel belongs in the woods, brah! Screw going viral, we want to go feral!<br>
<br>
Thanks so much to Jenny for organizing. To Drew for keeping a watchful eye on everything, and to Sasha, Brett, Jade, and Michelle for being game. Always...we are game.<br>
<br>

      <title>During SFO landings, I've always wondered... (drewstew)</title>
	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=495</link>
      <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://69.20.70.121/files/game/553/planeliferafts620x377.JPG"><br>
I originally intended this entry as the start of a series of retrospectives. It'd be impossible to walk away from 6 years and 400 Go Games without a good story to tell(or twenty).<br>
<br>
However, my daily perusal of the <a href="www.sfgate.com">Chronicle</a> led me to something I can't pass up. (Hey, it's a bit of a guilty pleasure, but it did lead me to find <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/02/10/BA2C15Q9H3.DTL"> this gem</a> once upon a time.) Anytime you see a lumberjack, wedding, or ninja in San Francisco, you've most likely just played The Go Game (at least, if you see a lumberjack, wedding, or ninja in a place you might not expect to find one).<br>
<br>
In making the magic of The Go Game happen, we fly. A lot. (If you ever have troubling remembering "a lot" versus "alot" read this <a href="http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html">brilliant comic</a>.) Seeing as the vast majority of us live in San Francisco proper, we see a lot (a lot!) of SFO. Sorry, OAK. <a href="http://www.flysfo.com/web/page/about/T2/image_gallery/"> But look how pretty SFO is now!</a>The vast majority of the time, your landing approach at SFO is South to North over the water, which means landing on one of these runways:<br>
<img src="http://69.20.70.121/files/game/553/SFO%20Water%20Landing.jpg"><br>
Which means your plane at some point is doing this:<br>
<img src="http://69.20.70.121/files/game/553/airplane United 777 landing at SFO.jpg"><br>
... and if you haven't done that a couple of times, it can be a tad unnverving. Even having made the landing a couple hundred times, I can't help but wonder, "what if..."<br>
<br>
Thanks to the <a href="www.sfgate.com">Chronicle</a> archives, <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/parenting/detail?entry_id=87389"> now I know what happens if you happen to come up just a bit short (3 miles?) on that approach<a/>:<br>
<img src="http://www.sfgate.com/blogs/images/sfgate/parenting/2011/04/19/crash323x457.JPG"><br>
<br>
In refreshing honesty, when questioned the pilot of the plane told the NTSB, "As you Americans say, I f---ed up." Also worth noting: they patched that plane right up and flew it another couple of decades.<br><br>

      <title>SF New Tech - 4/13/11 (Ian)</title>
	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=494</link>
      <description><![CDATA[On Wednesday, we were quite honored to present The Go Game App at <a href="http://www.sfnewtech.com/"target="_blank">SF New Tech</a> -- the longest-running technology get together in SF. It also happens to be my old friend <a href="http://www.twitter.com/mylerdude" target="_blank">Myles Weisslander's</a> baby. I've been a couple times in the past and really enjoyed it. Plus there are free tacos, which truly make ups the awesome factor. And Myles is a super gracious guy, passionate about technology and full of interesting questions. If you've never been, you should check it out.<br>
<br>
To be honest, at first we weren't sure if we belonged at this event. These are clearly the brains of the tech industry, the sleep-deprived engineers, overachieving 22-year-old CEO's, and a few VC suits just to keep the whole thing kosher. When we arrived, the smell of <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/el-tonayense-san-francisco-5" target="_blank">tacos</a> wafted through the large <a href="http://www.mighty119.com/" target="_blank">Mighty</a> space, with excited start-ups pitching their latest and greatest to anyone within earshot. Immediately we were charmed by the amazing <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/sfnewtech" target="_blank">SF New Tech team</a>, who graciously had beers and tacos in our hands in mere moments (special thanks to <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/amywhiggins" target="_blank">Amy</a> @SFNT for being so on top of everything!). We soon realized that we did indeed belong, as our sexy app fit in perfectly with the other presentations.<br>
<br>
<a href="http://www.twitter.com/chronodm" target="_blank">David Moles</a>, one half of our amazing David Programming team, and I took the stage and demo'd the new <a href="http://gogameapp.com/party" target="_blank">Go Game App</a> (thanks <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/kierenmccarthy" target="_blank">@kieren</a> for the photo). Well, we demo'd one creative mission only, since we only had 5 minutes and I got to talking. And you know I likes to talk.<br>
<br>
<img src="<a href="http://s666.photobucket.com/albums/vv23/asheshayes/?action=view&amp;current=sf_new_tech_go_game-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv23/asheshayes/sf_new_tech_go_game-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>"<br>
    SF New Tech -- thanks for the pic <a href="http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/04/16/sf_new_tech_turns_five/" target="_blank">@kieren</a><br>
<br>
We showed our 'Explainer' video that we love. I know you are as excited as we are to finally have the app, so we made a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/gogameapp" target="_blank">long version</a> and a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXvy7kMwwBc" target="_blank">short version</a>. You probably also know that we love feedback (product of having team building games, I guess) so let us know which strikes you as more effective. The original is 2 minutes, so we were encouraged to make a 1-minuter for the attention deprived. ADD peeps, you're welcome.<br>
<br>
The main point of the preso was to show how this iPhone app is really a bold new step towards scalability for The Go Game. Way back when, we thought running 2 events in the same day was scaling! Then, when <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/finnegan_kelly.asp" target="_blank">Finn</a> made 'The Cluster' (versus linear game technology) we thought we'd scaled. Now, the iPhone App version of the game can scale in a whole new way. There's now really no limit to how many groups can use any given gamezone in a given night. I look forward to solving this awesome problem: you've got 10 games happening in one city on a given Friday night, and not enough venues to host all the <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0424060/" target="_blank">Agent Hotpantses</a>.<br>
<br>
We were lucky enough to catch the presentations of some pretty amazing up-and-comers. Flowdock, Repost-Us, TryMyUI, Sococo, Let's Lunch and ToutSuite all did a fantastic job discussing their various claims to fame. <a href="http://flowdock.com/" target="_blank">Flowdock</a> lets you connect super fast with your company; <a href="http://www.repostus.com/" target="_blank">Repost-Us</a> branches out to millions via social media, overcoming the concern of low followers; <a href="http://www.trymyui.com//" target="_blank">TryMyUI</a> hires and videotapes Average Joe looking at your website, explaining what they see and how they like the page, all while they provide direct feedback; <a href="https://www.sococo.com/home.php" target="_blank">Sococo</a> turns your office into an avatar-like space, tapping into "offices" and meetings all online; <a href="http://letslunch.com/" target="_blank">Let's Lunch</a>, the latest crush for <a href="http://techcrunch.com/2011/01/31/letslunch-launches-and-weve-got-100-invites/" target="_blank">TechCrunch</a>, connects compelling and successful professionals with like-minded, yet usually unobtainable people -- <a href="http://blog.letslunch.com/" target="_blank">example</a>: <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/" target="_blank">Drop Box</a> Founder meets Founder of <a href="http://www.scribd.com/" target="_blank">Scribd.com</a> -- all orchestrated by them; and <a href="http://toutsuite.com/" target="_blank">ToutSuite</a> connects customers with creators, such as streaming video between groups wine tasting all over the world. It was some pretty exciting stuff, especially with <a href="https://www.sococo.com/news-and-events/recap-of-sfnewtech-via-tweets.html" target="_blank">live Tweeting</a> blasted on the wall behind presenters. Ah technology.<br>
<br>
As for our App, we are beyond elated to say that it will be up and ready oh so soon! We're in soft launch right now, and testing on lots of live groups. If you have a party/gathering and you'd like to play, let us know and we'll send you some free game codes!<br>
<br>
Were you able to make the SFNT event, or watch via stream? Have any questions? Bueller?<br>

      <title>April Fools -- We Got Got (Ian)</title>
	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=493</link>
      <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://69.20.70.121/files/game/1006/lawrencecoburn.jpg"><br>
<br>
We got totally fooled on April Fool's by our pal Lawrence Coburn, who (among other things) is the Location Editor for The Next Web. I recently re-met him based on a really good piece of writing of his that I found via Gabe Smedersman. Imagine my excitement when he told us that he's blogged about the entertaining and relatively unknown history of The Go Game.<br>
<br>
Like all good April Fool's pranks, he entices you with enough truth to have you fall for it. I'll let you decide what is truth or fiction.<br>
<br>
And of course, turns out my dear "partner" Finn was totally in on it. I have had it coming, I'll admit it.<br>
<br>
Have a read:<br>
<br>
----------------------------<br>
<br>
The Godfathers of Geo: The Go Game<br>
<br>
The year was 2001. A small group of young people had gathered on the hillside of Dolores Park in San Francisco’s Mission District. Ian Fraser, a lanky twenty something, and Finn Kelly, a burly New Yorker, were passing out cell phones. Not smartphones mind you - clunky, Nokia 5150s.<br>
<br>
A few minutes later, the group had dispersed. Running willy nilly in all directions, clutching their phones, and to the outside eye, running with no clear destination.<br>
<br>
But there was a destination.<br>
<br>
On that hill, in that park, was the first interactive street game using mobile phones.<br>
<br>
This was The Go Game.<br>
<br>
By 2003, a fresh faced intern had joined Kelly and Fraser, obsessed with the potential that games had for making the world a better place. That intern was Jane McGonigal, who is now the preeminent thought leader of the gamification movement.<br>
<br>
In 2005, Fraser and Kelly were approached by Dennis Crowley and Kevin Slavin to team up on a mobile powered “everywhere” game. While this project never materialized, Crowley would of course go on to found Dodgeball, and later Foursquare, and Slavin would make a name for himself in the geo world with Area/Code.<br>
<br>
The Go Game’s legend and reach was growing.<br>
<br>
In 2009, an excitable Seth Priebatsch stopped by The Go Game’s quirky Mission office to get their blessing on SCVNGR, a new mobile game which attempted to place a gaming layer on the world.<br>
<br>
While it’s unclear if the crotchety Kelly and Fraser did in fact offer their blessing to the jumpy Priebatsch, SCVNGR has gone on to become a force on the geosocial landscape.<br>
<br>
By 2011, The Go Game had revenues north of $3M and a scrappy team of 17. Their client list is a who's who list of Silicon Valley. And all this accomplished without a single dollar of venture capital.<br>
<br>
How has this unlikely partnership evolved? It started on the basketball court.<br>
<br>
Ian “Skinny Legs” Fraser had been making a name for himself on the pickup basketball courts of San Francisco as a high flying street baller, despite his curiously skinny legs (which led to the nickname). One day, he ran into Finn Kelly, whose superior strength and girth neutralized Fraser’s athleticism (this one sided rivalry soon extended to the Ping Pong table, where again, Fraser was no match for Kelly).<br>
<br>
Distraught by the mounting losses on the basketball court, Fraser soon turned to drugs and other substances to numb the pain. It was one such drug-fueled binge that the idea for The Go Game came to Fraser. Fraser now claims this was a “dream,” though bewildered onlookers swear Fraser was awake.<br>
<br>
During the episode, Fraser found himself in a basement of a North Beach restaurant, with an ancient Chinese woman screaming nonsense at him. This nonsense roughly translated to “The Go Game.”<br>
<br>
It is still unclear to many whether Fraser was actually in a North Beach restaurant, or asleep at home. Or really, if the Chinese woman was shouting “Go Game” or “Go Home” to Fraser.<br>
<br>
Once he “awoke” from this "dream," Fraser contacted his longtime nemesis Kelly and asked him to team up to make sense of this curious episode and turn it into a business.<br>
<br>
With Kelly’s own prospects bleak, and friends starting to question his sanity (he had begun referring to himself in the third person as “The Shaman”), Kelly decided to take a chance and team up with the man known as Skinny Legs.<br>
<br>
Things weren’t all peaches and cream for the duo however. Following the cratering of the Internet economy, in an ill-advised attempt to reduce expenses, Kelly and Fraser concocted a harebrained scheme for a Same Sex Domestic Partnership. Soon discovered by the authorities, The Go Game had to pay a hefty fine that nearly bankrupted the budding partnership.<br>
<br>
But somehow, through it all, The Go Game has persevered.<br>

What’s next for this unusual company? I posed this very question to Skinny Legs and The Shaman as they sat sipping lemonade and gently rocking on wooden chairs on an Austin balcony. “What’s next?” whispered Skinny Legs Fraser in a creaky aged voice that belied his 40 years. “I don’t know, but it’s going to be huge.”<br><br>

      <title>Ice Breakers (Ian)</title>
	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=492</link>
      <description><![CDATA[<a href="http://gogameapp.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/ice-breaker.jpeg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-124" title="ice-breaker" src="http://gogameapp.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/ice-breaker.jpeg?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="204" /></a><br>
<br>
Op-Ed to the SXSW report card:  Duuude -- the hype over location services! Mind boggling. Epic (and ultimately positive for everyone in this space). There are sooo  many  apps out there that can do cool things like:<br>
<ul><br>
	<li>Let u know where the party's at</li><br>
	<li>Let u know where 'your kind of people' are</li><br>
	<li>Ensure you'll NEVER miss the epic gathering/quora that's happening     'round the corner.</li><br>
	<li>Give you a shit ton of the most perfect coupons</li><br>
</ul><br>
First off, on the coupons -- it's a good idea. It's matured nicely, and this space has needed a good old fashioned revenue model for a while. Particularly impressive is Foursquare's self-serve merchant dashboard. And I'm happy that 4SQ kicked so much ass in the face of better-funded (Gowalla) and more massive (Facebook) competitors. Not a whole lot more to say on the coupon front.<br>
<br>
As for the 'where the party at?' applications -- I know I sound like an old curmudgeon, but are we all suffering from a debilitating case of separation anxiety or autophobia? Possibly we've never healed from the psychic scars of missing out on that night in 8th grade when everyone met on the tennis courts at midnight to smoke cigarettes. God forbid we miss a connection. I keep imagining this hipster-lurker 'friend' who amazingly pops up (in person or via text) every time you and 2 other people happen to be on the same block. I'm not sure which human impulse is stronger: the savage need <strong>not</strong> to be left out OR the desire for good company/good time. I think I've had the more visceral response to the former, but strive for the latter. Either way, it's hard to argue against either of these needs as the underlying foundation for an app.<br>
<br>
Similarly, lots of apps that help you meet the perfect person, at any given moment.  A funny anecdote: I was talking to a friend at the beer garden x from the convention hall at SXSW, and in conversation I mentioned the term 'Ice Breaker,' at which point a stranger at the next table goes: 'Ice Breaker? That's the name of the app I just built!' Seriously, this guy (a nice dude named Ketan who started KidBombay) had just whipped it up in the month preceeding the conference. An app that helps you meet people and...break the ice. The chatter about this functionality was everywhere. It was epic. Group texting, locative texting, GroupMe, Beluga, Yobongo, etc. So far, I like Gatsby as it's designed to get an actual conversation going. The application tells you that someone who shares your interest is nearby and offers up a convo topic.<br>
<br>
IMHO what's missing from a lot of these services is the 'grease' that gets makes an interaction fun, and/or likely to happen at all. At <a href="http://www.thegogame.com">The Go Game</a>, we watch people go up to strangers all the time -- because they are on a secret, important mission, worth points. If you're just told to go talk to the cute girl at the dance -- (mom licks your hair and pushes you toward her), it's often a slow motion train wreck.  What you need is the reason. If I'm playing a game, reality is suspended and I have a mission to complete. It's at the core of what we do, and we see it work at company off-sites and conferences every day. If you've been tasked by the game to approach someone, and find out where they went to college, and enter it for points, they're more likely to do it. If there's a fun component, all the better. It's the social sauce that's really key.<br>
<br>
With this in mind, I think the most exciting interaction-based app was <a href="http://www.situationistapp.com">The Situationist</a>, made by Benrik. We all played it and were totally geeked every time one of us got a 'situation.' Sadly it was too crowded at SXSW to actually find the people you were paired with, but we were truly engaged and READY TO POUNCE. What the Situationist has done is to add funny (sometimes somewhat creepy) layer of physical interactivity to the app. For example, I can request anyone with the app to randomly approach me and give me a high-five. We were all dying to give someone a high five. WE LIKEY.<br>
<br>
Kind of brings us back, full-circle to where we've positioned The Go Game App. We strive to make a discreet and finite gathering MIND-BLOWINGLY fun. We aren't a social service. You can't check in. You can't see who's around you (UNLESS, of course you're paired up in a Head to Head challenge where you face-off and dance-off). Hey there you have it: sidewalk dance-offs -- they probably don't scale as well as half-priced pedicures, but they're a lot more exciting. Ultimately, The Go Game ends....and then...well, then you can go back to work on Monday, and continue to score points for brushing your teeth or buying coffee.<br><br>

      <title>Fast Company Loves The Go Game as Much as Google and Apple (drewstew)</title>
	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=491</link>
      <description><![CDATA[<br><img src="http://www.fastcompany.com/sites/all/themes/fc_v1/images/logo.gif"></img><br>
<p>We received an <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/1738329/the-real-life-location-game-that-apple-and-google-staff-love" target="_blank">in-depth article</a> on The Go Game today in an article by Chris Dannen of Fast Company, with a wonderful write up that includes this quote:</p> <br>
<br>
<p><em>“You might say that The Go Game, an iPhone game launching this week at SXSW, is the best-researched project in the history of location games. Founders Ian Fraser and Finnegan Kelly have spent the last 10 years running a hacked-together version of the game at corporate team-building events for <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2011/profile/google.php" target="_blank">Google</a>, <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2011/profile/apple.php" target="_blank">Apple</a>, EA Games, <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2011/profile/zynga.php" target="_blank">Zynga</a>, <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2011/profile/facebook.php" target="_blank">Facebook</a>, <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2011/profile/microsoft.php" target="_blank">Microsoft</a> and <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2011/profile/intel.php" target="_blank">Intuit</a>.”</em></p> <br>

<p>Another fine mention comes in a <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/1738335/bringing-back-the-messiness-of-myspace" target="_blank">blog post</a> Dannan wrote about Ze Frank, who has a startup of his own, <a href="http://star.me" target="_blank">Star.me</a>. Danna writes:</p> <br>
<p><em>“It’s tempting to think of Frank as a throwback, but the more of <a href="http://www.ted.com/talks/ze_frank_s_web_playroom.html">his TED talks</a> you watch, the more you realize his timing might be extremely adept: after all, other smart startups here at SXSW, like <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/1738073/scvngr-chief-ninja-seth-priebatsch-sxsw-keynote-speech">Scvngr</a>, <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/1738329/the-real-life-location-game-that-apple-and-google-staff-love">The Go Game</a>, and Christopher Poole’s <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/1738301/chris-moot-pooles-new-venture-brings-the-fun-of-4chan-to-the-mainstream">Canvas</a> are also <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/1738301/chris-moot-pooles-new-venture-brings-the-fun-of-4chan-to-the-mainstream">thinking about the purity of fun</a> on a very high level. “It’s a great time to be visually extravagant and wondrous on the web,” he says, because social networks like Facebook are so heavy-handed about how profiles look. “Star.me works because we need it now.”</em></p> <br>

      <title>SXSW Bound (Ian)</title>
	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=489</link>
      <description><![CDATA[On Thursday we take off for SXSW in Austin, TX., where we'll be launching our big new thing -- a product that will allow us to offer something like a DIY version The Go Game!!! An iPhone app version of TGG -- it can be played by anyone (for now anyone with an iPhone), anywhere (starting w 10 cities...20 more coming by summer), and it will magically turn any gathering into a Go Game. No Gamerunner needed. <br>
<br>
Led by David Moles on the iPhone side and David Yun and Finn on the back end, it's been a huuuuge and productive effort for the last several months. We're incredibly excited/proud/tired.<br>
<br>
Couple thoughts that led us down this road:<br>
<br>
1. The technology is finally here. It really took ios4 for the scale to tip and allow us to deliver something we feel proud of. So much of The Go Game magic relies on the video/music pairing that's done live and on-the-fly by the gamerunner. Apple's new operating system allows us to finally do justice to teams' 'creative' missions. Finn enlisted a bunch of friends to create custom soundtracks. We think you'll agree that the interface is hot.<br>
<br>
2. Our content is really good. We've been writing and executing these games for 10 years and we've learned a lot about what groups like to do, what they can/can't do, how to pace a game, what confuses them, and what delights them. So we're putting our game content front and center. People generally have a hard time writing good real-world game/scavenger style missions -- and we're the experts. We do it all for you.<br>
<br>
3. The demand is here -- knocking on our door, every day. We get thousands of inquiries looking for a Go Game for smaller parties (birthdays, bachleor/ette, anniversaries, team-building, etc) and we can finally service them at a really great price point. The demand has been here for a while, but we never felt solid enough about our HTML version of the 'everywhere game' to really go after it, full-throttle. Now -- we're ready!<br>
<br>
4. We're full-trottle. It's in the App store (releasing soon). We've done a ton of design work, made stop-motion movies, have a good PR push coming. It's exciting!<br>
<br>
Much more to come over the next week. I'll try to post some updates from Austin.<br>
<br>
Stay tuned amigos!<br><br>

I am, for the record, in the top 10% (or more - not polite to brag about one's compensation). Nice<br><br>

      <title>Quick Aside (Andrew)</title>
	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=404</link>
      <description><![CDATA[How much do you get paid to do what you do? How much <a href="http://www.payscale.com/">should you?</a><br>
 We all think we should get paid a little to a lot more (er, except here<br>
 at The Go Game), and many of us are probably correct. I mean, my mom <br>
told me I was special, and I was pretty sure I'd retire by this point <br>
(28 years old!). <br>
<br>
At least one dude got a pretty fair wage last year:<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/ept_sports_nfl_experts-768164697-1273475699.jpg"><br>
(Jamarcus Russell, formerly of the Oakland Raiders)<br>
<br>
"...here's how JaMarcus was compensated for his production with the <br>
Oakland Raiders: Roughly $100,000 per completion and $5.6 million per <br>
win."<br>
<br>
So yeah, the guy who bought one of these (sadly out of date now):<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/jamarcus-russell-diamond-jersey.html"><br>
made more completing a pass - A PASS(I'd post you a video, but they're <br>
kinda hard to find) than you did all year last year. The rest of the <br>
article<br>
<a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Russell-as-a-Raider-in-one-handy-stat-100-000?urn=nfl,239764"> if you can stomach it. </a><br>
<br>
Raiders, you seem like you need some team building. Just let us know, we'll hook you up!<br><br>

      <description><![CDATA[I love you, <a href="http://www.kayak.com/">Kayak</a>.<br>
 I really, really love you. And for that, you are my #1 travel website.<br>
<br>
You are easy to use and basic yet still extremely powerful. You don't <br>
make my eyes bleed with CHEAP RENTAL CARS IN TUCSON! and the like. And, I<br>
 must not be crazy because we all consider you a reference... and the <a href="http://frugaltraveler.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/16/click-it-and-ticket-booking-a-flight-the-frugal-way/">New York Times</a><br>
 agrees so it must be true!(?) Allow me to present a nugget of GOLD from<br>
 their travel blog:<br>
<br>
"Still, however, there are a few more little things I do to game the <br>
system as much as possible. I try to fly on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, when<br>
 fares tend to be a little lower (though not always) and fewer people <br>
mob the airports (though not always). I go to SeatExpert.com to find the<br>
 best spot in the plane to park myself. (Sorry, SeatGuru.com!) And I try<br>
 always to buy the ticket directly through the airline, partly to <br>
maximize frequent-flier miles, partly because the airlines sometimes <br>
have special deals that don’t show up on Kayak, but also so that if <br>
things go wrong at the airport (as I’ve heard happens on very rare <br>
occasions) the airline won’t be able to blame some third-party booker."<br>
<br>
So, so, true.<br><br>

	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=401</link>
      <description><![CDATA[We produce hilarity in our patent pending (that's a total lie) Go <br>
Games, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that we produce hilarity in <br>
the office as well. Several years ago, an <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/ian_fraser.asp">anonymous</a><br>
 member of our office decided our space need a remodel. There were two <br>
rooms that desperately (apparently) needed the wall between them knocked<br>
 down. Anonymous made the first <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGDBR2L5kzI">practice</a> cut in the wall, took a step back, thought "actually... maybe not my best idea" and promptly went to <a href="http://www.despair.com/">Despair</a> to get one of these bad boys to cover up the hole: <br><img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/demotivators_2102_87866.gif"><br>
<br><br>
Hilarious.<br>
<br><br>
(The hole is repaired and now the poster hangs on our fridge - where hopefully no one tries remodeling).<br><br>

      <title>Write What You  Know (Andrew)</title>
	  <link>http://www.thegogame.com/team/about/Blog_ViewPost.asp?BlogPostID=398</link>
      <description><![CDATA["So, are you from here?" is probably the #2 most asked question of us<br>
 Game Runners (right after "So - you just get out of jail?" [our <br>
jumpsuits are jail house orange]).<br>
<br>
To be clear, we're from San Francisco, but in the last 7 days we've <br>
covered:<br>
-<a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/cities/Seattle.asp"> Seattle</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/cities/LosAngeles_team_building.asp%3E%20LA%3C/a%3E,%20%3Ca%20href=" http:="" www.thegogame.com="" team="" cities="" newjersey.asp="">New Brunswick NJ</a>,<a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/cities/miami.asp">Miami</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/cities/Boston.asp">Boston</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/cities/Scottsdale.asp">Scottsdale</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/cities/Boulder.asp">Boulder</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/cities/Dallas.asp">Dallas</a>, <a href="http://www.thegogame.com/team/cities/Portland.asp%3EPortland%3C/a%3E,%20and%20of%20course%20%3Ca%20href=" http:="" www.thegogame.com="" team="" cities="" sanfrancisco.asp="">The Bay Area</a><br>
<br>
Perhaps it's not that surprising that pretty much all of our friends have asked us question #3: "Hey, have you seen <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1193138/">Up In The Air?</a> I think you might like it."<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/Blog_files/up_in_the_air1.jpg"><br>
<br>
Presumably (hopefully)they connect us with the film for its depiction of<br>
 business travel, and not for a main character living a comfortable life<br>
 of distance. For the record, I very much enjoyed Up In The Air. And I <br>
think <a href="http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1949790,00.html">10 Million Miles</a><br>
 is an impressive goal. I'm pretty loyal to US Air, United, or Delta if I<br>
 have a choice (free checked bags? priority check in, boarding, and <br>
security? sold) so I understand his feeling towards American/Hilton/etc.<br>
 But I digress.<br>
<br>
I'm back on the blog horse, and this week I'm writing about Travel. My <br>
top 5 websites (you didn't realize it was a list, did you) I use for <br>
travel:<br>

<br>
Sorry, we can't stop ourselves with the Easter puns. We know everyBUNNY <br>
is HOPing we'll stop, but we're just so EGGcited about how <br>
EGGstraordinarily fun the Big Kid London Easter Hunt was on Saturday! <br>
We're pretty EGGstatic about it.<br>
<br>
Thanks to all the amazing folks who came down to the South Bank to chase<br>
 down the Easter Bunny, eat hot cross buns off a fishing pole, show <br>
Jesus a magic trick, do an egg-and-spoon race with a very large chicken,<br>
 reenact Noah's Ark through interpretive dance and so much more. We <br>
raised a ton of money for MIND, a very worthy mental health charity, and<br>
 had ridiculous amounts of fun along the way.<br>
<br>
We've picked some of our favourite photos from the game to showcase the <br>
creative brilliance of our many players. Almost 200 people showed up to <br>
partake in the holiday adventures, decked out in all types of Easter <br>
fancy dress. Here's the Very Happy Eggs in some Very Awesome Bunny <br>
Masks.<br>
<br>

<br>
There were all kinds of HARE-brained antics with the Easter Bunny. She got a piggy-back ride from team Eggnostics...<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/eggnostics.jpg"><br>
<br>
...but got attacked by the Free Rangers...<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/freerangerskickingbunny.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
...and got nibbled on by team Joy Division!<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/joydivisionbunny.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
But she got her revenge by eating the entire team of Highland Lovers Make Better Snorers!<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/highlandbunnayh1.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
Los Sombreros prayed to Jesus, who was having a bit of trouble working his miracles...<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/lossombrerosjesus.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
...but his day vastly improved when he showed some leg to the aptly named Playboys and Bunnygirls.<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/playboysjesus.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
The Bunnygirls also got a piece of the Chicken...<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/playboysandbunnygirlschicken.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
...who also butted up against the Nameless Bunnies.<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/namelessbunnieschicken.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
We loved the fabulously facial-haired 6 Chocolateers posing for a photo <br>
with the Cardinal, who was bestowing all kinds of blessings during this <br>
holiday adventure.<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/6chocolateerspiratecardinal.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
A bunch of you went fishing for hot cross buns, like this brave soul from Norfolk in Chance (one of our favourite team names!)<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/norfolkinchancehotcrossbuns.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
And a group meal for team ROAR!<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/ROARhotcrossbuns.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
Here's team Tourch with the salty sea dog fisherman who was testing out <br>
his new religious fish bait and leading the hot cross buns game.<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/tourchwithfisherman.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
We don't know exactly what Fans of Mankini Man (another awesome team <br>
name) were getting up to in this picture, but we like it. Fire! <br>
Synchronized moves! Balls flying at your face! Brilliant.<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/mankini.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
We enjoyed this fab photo from the Nameless Bunnies who went sailing away...<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/namelessbunniesboat.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
and we were quite impressed with 'Cassie Doing The Knowledge' from the Shortbus Shooters...<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/shortbusshootersdrivingcab.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
...but blown away by the dedication of Highland Lovers Make Better <br>
Snorers. We love you too. We're going to get your team name tattooed on <br>
our foreheads...we promise.<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/tggtattooface.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
Congrats to the winners, the Wanstead Sox!<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/wansteadsoxcelebratesmall.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
And the runners-up, the Mini Eggs!<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/minieggs.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
Lastly, a special shout-out to team Gadzooks! They may not have <br>
completed the most missions, but certainly brought some well-lubricated <br>
happiness to the Big Kid London Easter Hunt.<br>
<br>
<img src="http://www.thegogame.com/team/photos/blog_files/gadzooksbeerface.jpg" width="600"><br>
<br>
